Tibor Navracsics, Minister of Regional Development, has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Miklós Maróth, President of the Eötvös Loránd Research Network. Under the cooperation, the independent research network will contribute proposals to help carry out regional development tasks, ensure efficient and targeted use of EU funds, and implement the Veszprém-Balaton 2023 European Capital of Culture program.

The involvement of the independent research network is not only part of the social dialogue but also in the government's interest, as it allows valuable, up-to-date knowledge to appear in legislative work, making regional policy stronger, more flexible, and Hungary more competitive - emphasized Tibor Navracsics, Minister of Regional Development, regarding the agreement.

Miklós Maróth believes that leveraging the knowledge and experience of the approximately 3,300 researchers working in the eleven research centers and seven research institutes of ELKH, as well as 116 supported research groups, makes the faster utilization of scientific results possible and strengthens the role of science in shaping regional policy.

Previously, Tibor Navracsics had already signed strategic partnership agreements with the leaders of 17 higher education institutions, 28 scientific, ecclesiastical, charitable and civil organizations, as well as 23 chamber of commerce leaders, which help facilitate two-way communication and enable widespread social debate on policy proposals.
