ATOMKI Deputy Director Géza Lévai receives 2022 Jenő Wigner Award for his outstanding scientific work

For his outstanding scientific work Géza Lévai, Deputy Director of the ELKH Institute for Nuclear Research (ATOMKI), and doctor of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA), has received the 2022 Jenő Wigner Award, which was founded by the MTA and the MVM Paks Nuclear Power Plant Ltd. Géza Lévai received his award during the traditional prize ceremony of the opening event of the Hungarian Science Festival.

Based on the decision of the board of trustees, the 2022 award was given to Géza Lévai for his internationally recognized research work and results in the development and application of theoretical models of quantum mechanics and nuclear structure based on symmetries. With this work, he has contributed to the expansion of the traditional mathematical formalism of quantum mechanics, as well as the interpretation of various regularities displayed in the structure of atomic nuclei.
